Sport Nottinghamshire and Nottinghamshire County Council are seeking nominations for annual Nottinghamshire Sports Awards.
In total, 14 categories are open for nominations from individuals or clubs. Five categories are dedicated to recognising the talents and achievements of young people.

- Junior Disabled Sportsperson
- Volunteer of the Year
- Junior Volunteer
- Coach of the Year – Performance
- Coach of the Year – Community
- Young Coach
- Achievement of the Year
- Team of the Year
- Junior Team
- Sporting School of the Year
- Club of the Year
- Sporting Project of the Year
- Roll of Honour
For all these categories the qualifying period is 1 December 2014 to 29 November 2015.
The Roll of Honour recognises Nottinghamshire residents who have devoted their lives to sport in the County. No time frame is placed on this category.
The world of professional sport will also be recognised with the many exceptional performances delivered by Nottinghamshire teams and individuals.
The awards will be presented during a ceremony on Wednesday 3rd February at the Nottingham Conference Centre.
Last year’s award winners included – sisters Becky and Ellie Downie who both won their categories. Becky was named Sportsperson of the Year. Her sister Ellie, another rising star within gymnastics, scooped the Junior Sportsperson of the Year award. Ollie Hynd MBE won the Disabled Sportsperson of the Year for the second year running.
Elsewhere, there was joy for a range of other sports stars, volunteers, and clubs who have achieved so much at grassroots, voluntary and professional level across the county, including Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, who lifted the NatWest Women’s County T20 trophy in cricket last season, winning Team of the Year, The Samworth Academy as Sporting School of the Year and John Hope, from the world of Bowls, winning Volunteer of the Year.
